sooooooooo...tell me, what's the emotional benefit of having a snake? I mean, you can't really stroke its fur...err I mean scale...and it doesn't look at you in the eye with a devoted pet look...

There isn't really any emotional benefit. And he doesn't look you in the eye with a devoted pet look, but he sure does look you in the eye with a hungry look.
